A homemade vanilla yogurt your body will love

I wouldn’t believe you if you told me years ago I would be making my own sweet, flavored yogurt bowl like I am today. About eight years ago I went vegan for a year and after that I never went back to real, dairy yogurt up until about a year and a half ago when I realized it can actually be good for you! I used to be terrified of dairy and all its “side effects”, the thing is, even when I was NOT consuming dairy I STILL had all the “side effects”. I know, crazy!

You often hear dairy causes hormone imbalances and bad skin. What if I told you that when I started consuming yogurt, along with many other healing foods and incorporating new healthy routines my problems went away! Yes, jaw line acne went away, hormones were happier and my body was thanking me in many different ways! It was fascinating! I still ask my husband every so often, can you believe all that is gone? All those things I thought I could never get rid of, what doctors and people would say were “normal”. Umm, no way!

I want to share with you a quick and delicious sweet yogurt recipe that not only will you love but it could possibly turn into your next healthy, favorite late night snack or even breakfast!

Homemade vanilla yogurt ingredients:

We know there are many sweet vanilla yogurt options out there BUT if you are looking for something more natural, and with no added sugars here it is, you’ll need …

  • 3/4 cup Organic Plain Grass fed Greek Yogurt  (Greek Yogurt has SO MANY benefits like improved metabolism, good source of protein, improves gut health, lowers the risk of type 2 diabetes, encourages good mental health)
  • Few drops of Organic Pure Vanilla Extract  (provides antibacterial properties and promotes good gut bacteria)
  • 1 tbs Organic Raw Honey  (anti inflammatory and antioxidant)
  • 1 tbs Organic MCT oil  (anti inflammatory, keeps you full for longer, natural energy giver)
  • Dash of Cinnamon  (lipid lowering, antioxidant, anti inflammatory and improves body metabolism)
  • Dash of Cardamom  (balances blood sugar, aids digestion, helps circulation, lowers blood pressure and gives you fresh breath)

Toppings:

  • Any fruit, granola, nuts, drizzles you’d like!

The quality of ingredients matters, make sure none of your ingredients have unwanted additives or chemicals in them!

How to make…

  1. First, you are going to want to mix very well all of these ingredients in a cute bowl. I use honey because I don’t mind the sugar in it and im not counting calories, but if you are you can use a different sweetener.
  2. Secondly, top it off with your berries, banana, granola, shredded coconut, chocolate drizzle or peanut butter drizzle. The possibilities are endless!
